Socrates grew up in Costa Mesa, California and attended Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he graduated with a degree in political history.

He has been involved with progressive rock band KILLER CORTEZ as lead singer and guitarist, alternative rock duo BEAUCHENE SKULLS as drummer, and with the folk-rock group ROOKIN as bassist. He was also a guitarist and producer with the experimental electro-rock project GLASS MANNEQUINS.

In the past Socrates lived in New York City and collaborated with a wide variety of artists as a writer, accompanist, arranger and producer. After relocating to Boston MA he was an active member of the vibrant Boston music scene, and was one of the founders of Wadzilla Mansion, the infamous underground music venue.

These days Socrates is primarily creating music under the alter-ego ROBBER DINERO and releasing material via his independent record label, Ghost Ransom Records.

He is an avid fan of soccer, politics, and thai food. His main influences are The Beatles, Bernie Sanders, Ronaldo (the Brazilian one) and the writings of Franz Kafka, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.
